Title:
WATERRSOLUBLE AZO DYE NOT HAVING CARBOXYLIC ACID GROUP NOR SULFONIC ACID GROUP*ITS MANUFACTURE AND DYEING METHOD FOR SYNTHETIC POLYMER MATERIAL THEREWITH
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS55131062
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
Water-soluble azo dyes, contg. no carboxylic or sulphonic acid gps., of formula (I) are new. In (I), ring A is opt. substd. by >=1 of Cl, Br, F, NO2, CN, CF3, alkylsulphonyl, arylsulphonyl, SO2NH2 (opt. N-alkyl or dialkyl substd), lower alkyl or alkoxy, alkylthio, acylamino, aralkyl, aryl or COOR3; R3 = lower alkyl or aryl. R = H, or opt. substd. 1-6C alkyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl or aryl; R1 = H, lower alkyl or alkoxy, acylamino, CONH2, alkylthio or OH; R2 = H or lower alkyl or alkoxy; D is 3-6C opt. branched alkylene with a beta-OH substit., and separates N and Q by >=2C. Q is a cationic gp. and X an anion. (I) are useful for dyeing or printing synthetic polymers, esp. (co)polymers of acrylonitrile or dicyanoethylene, and also acid-modified polyamide and polyester. They give strong medium blue to greenish blue shades and, unlike basic blue 41, are fast to steam ironing and dry heat treatments, and have excellent hydrolytic stability. They have better compatibility values than similar dyes without an OH substit. in D.
