PURPOSE: To provide a wave power generator which can convert wave power directly to electric energy without using a moving unit for converting to mechani cal energy, a normal generator with high efficiency.
CONSTITUTION: A wave-activated power generator comprises electrode plates for forming a capacitor C opposed under the water, installed to match wave heights in parallel with the advancing direction of waves 2 in the gap, a DC power source and a rectified connected to the charge/discharge circuit of the capacitor to obtain electric energy from the wave energy, wherein plates, one greater in number than the capacitors C, are arranged in parallel at predetermined intervals, so electrically connected as to sequentially alternately change the polarity, and the plate 11 of the end is grounded. Accordingly, as compared with the structure in which a pair of electrode plates is connected in parallel, the number of the plates 22 can be reduced by half, dielectric strength of the adjacent plates can be eliminated, and largely cost can be reduced. Since the plates 22 of both ends are grounded, the safety of an operator can be secured.
