Abstract:
To simplify a structure of a wave motion generator, to reduce an energy loss generated between the wave motion generator and an outer gear which relatively rotate, and to reduce a product price of a wave motion gear device.SOLUTION: A wave motion gear device 1 has: a wave motion generator 2 to be rotated; a cylindrical outer gear 3 which is elastically deformed into an elliptical shape by being fit to the wave motion generator 2; and an inner gear 4 geared with the outer gear 3 on a long axis of the outer gear 3 which is elastically deformed into the elliptical shape. In a cam 8 of the wave motion generator 2, a long-axis side elliptical circular face 16 and a short-axis side elliptical circular face 18 which slide-contact with an internal peripheral face 3a of the outer gear 3 are formed in a pair. A long-axis side circular face 17 is smoothly connected to both sides of the long-axis side elliptical circular face 16 of the cam 8 in a peripheral direction. A short-axis side circular face 20 is smoothly connected to both sides of the short-axis side elliptical circular face 18 of the cam 8. A substantially-wedged shape clearance is formed of both the circular faces 17, 20 between the internal peripheral face 3a of the outer ring gear 3 and the circular faces.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
