Abstract:
The wavelength convertor (100) includes an incoming optical pump signal (103) which is divided into two channels (106,107) by a coupler (105). The first channel is applied to a coupler (110) and a sound wavelength (108) added. The two signals pass to an amplifier (101) and attenuator (121) and then to a filter (113) which removes the pump frequency. The resultant wavelength beam is applied to a second coupler (114) where the second channel laser pump is added. The signals are then applied to an amplifier (102) and passed through a filter (117) to produce the required converted wavelength (104).
