Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a wavelength division multiplex passive light network using a bi-directional light spectrum slicing for multi-directional transmission. SOLUTION: A light signal to be transmitted is sliced in terms of a spectrum in both asending and descending directions in the network by using a wavelength division multiplex routing to be defined as a passive light source 12. Incoherent signal sources are included preferably at ends of both directions in the passive light network 12 and a signal provided by the passive light network 12 is sliced in terms of the spectrum according to frequency of light. Down information is transmitted in a conventional data format. Up transmission is separated by sub-carrier multiplexing, time scheduling or wavelength division multiplexing.
