PURPOSE: To provide a wavelength-stabilized laser device which is highly stable in a wide wavelength range by using gas molecules having a specific structure in a light absorbing cell as a light absorptive gas.
CONSTITUTION: A semiconductor laser 1 is controlled by means of a control circuit 4 so that the laser light emitted from the laser 1 can be received by means of a photoreceptor 3 after the laser light is transmitted through a light absorbing cell 11 and the wavelength of the laser light emitted from the laser 1 can be made coincident with the prescribed absorbing wavelength of the cell 11 in accordance with a photoelectrically converted electric signal. In addition, molecules which have a structure expressed by a general expression, H-C≡C-X (X represents a group other than hydrogen) and form a gas under the atmospheric or reduced pressure exist in the cell 11. Therefore, such a wavelength-stabilized laser device which is highly stable in a wide wavelength range that cannot be realized with the prior art laser device can be obtained.
