Abstract:
To provide a wavelength sweeping light source realizing stable FDML operation by controlling the sweep frequency of a wavelength selector according to resonator length change.SOLUTION: A beam sampler 251 divides a part of the light entering from the fiber ring side, and a part of the light entering from the grating 234 and the optical deflector 233 side, and the divided light permeates a bandpass filter 254 and enters photodetectors 255, 256. When the difference Δt of peak time becomes smaller than a reference value (when the reference value is zero, Δt<0), it means that the optical length of the fiber ring becomes short and the circulation cycle has been shortened, and thereby the wavelength sweeping frequency fis increased so that the Δt becomes zero. Meanwhile, when the phase difference Δt becomes larger than a reference value (when the reference value is zero, Δt>0), it means that the optical length of the fiber ring becomes long and the circulation cycle has been lengthened, and thereby the wavelength sweeping frequency fis decreased so that the Δt becomes zero.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
