Title:
WAVELENGTH-VARIABLE LASER LIGHT SOURCE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3197869
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength-variable laser light source, capable of continuously sweeping the oscillation wavelength near the desired wavelength over all the possible oscillation ranges with optical amplifier elements by suppressing mode hopping.
SOLUTION: An external resonance type laser is constituted of a diffracting means 2 including a diffraction grating 21 and a first reflector 22, optical amplifier 1 and first reflector 3. An angle detecting means 4 detects the angle of the optical axis of a light which points to the diffracting means 2 from a semiconductor laser LD11, making with the optical axis of a light pointing the LD11 from the diffracting means 2 via a controller 5 controls the resonator length, using the detected angle as an error signal.
