PURPOSE: To provide a wax-coated paper container recyclable in the standard repulping conditions, and a method for recycling the container and a wax composition to be used for coating the paper container.

CONSTITUTION: A paper containing is coated with a special wax composition. The wax component contains a specific wax and a specific fatty acid ≤30 wt.%. The wax used has a melting point of about 130-160°F and a viscosity of 10-200 cPs at 10°F above the melting point of the wax. Further, the wax is a mixture of several kinds of paraffins ranging from about 20 to 45 carbon atoms with more than about 60 wt.% paraffins ranging from about 25 to 32 carbon atoms. The fatty acid used is a saturated or non-saturated fatty acid having 8-22 carbon atoms.
