Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an aluminum alloy composite material in which reinforcing fiber is added as the sliding material excellent in sliding properties of non- seizure, wear resistance, etc.

CONSTITUTION: A composite material has a composition consisting of 10-40 volume % a hybrid formed body in which consists of, by weight, 85-95% inorganic whisker of 0.0-1.2μm diameter, 10-30μm length and 5-15% alumina fiber of 100-300μm length, 14-12 weight % Si as a matrix and the balance Al, the average grain size of the Si is ≤5μm. In particular, the inorganic whisker is made of titanium calcium and/or aluminum boride.
