Abstract:
To provide an inexpensively producible wear resistant metallic composite body having excellent wear resistance.
The wear resistant metallic composite body 7 is composed of a porous casting waste sand molded body 1 obtd. by molding casting waste sand 11 to a prescribed shape and metal 2 impregnated into the voids at the inside of the casting waste molded body 1. The casting waste sand is exposed to the surface of the wear resistant metallic composite body 7. As to the casting waste sand molded body, the inside is preferably impregnated with inorganic fibers 12 such as alumina fibers. As the metal 2, e.g. aluminum or the like is used.
