To provide a weather observation device which can perform position control of an airframe without canceling torque as reaction of rotation of a rotor for acquiring lift force, can easily achieve a simple structure and a small and light configuration, is less likely to go out of order, on which maintenance is easily performed, and which can be manufactured at a low cost.
A weather observation device 1 comprises: a propeller 3 for generating lift force; a motor 4 for rotating the propeller 3; an airframe 2 which receives reaction force by rotation of the propeller 3 and rotates in a direction opposite to a rotation direction of the propeller 3; a movable wing for tilting the airframe 2 in a predetermined tilt direction by changing a flow of an airflow by which the rotating airframe 2 receives resistance; a geomagnetic sensor 6 for detecting an orientation of the airframe 2; a microcomputer 7 which controls movement of the airframe 2 by periodically moving a tail unit 5 synchronizing the movement with timing when the rotating airframe 2 turns to a predetermined indication orientation, based on the orientation of the airframe 2; and a temperature sensor 8.
