To improve the sealability of an edge part of a weather strip for an automobile, comprising a mounting part to be mounted on a door opening edge of an automobile body, and a hollow sealing part for sealing a clearance with respect to a door panel when a door is closed, formed by cutting a seal part at a position corresponding to a corner part of a door opening edge, provided with a molding part to be agreed with the shape of the corner part on the cut part, and elastically kept into contact with the frame of the car body at its edge part.
The rigidity is improved by making a thickness (a) of an edge part 4' thicker than a thickness (b) of a hollow part of a molding part 4, and a weather strip is totally curved to be kept into contact with a car body frame 5 on two points at both ends to concentrate the stress.
