Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enhance the appearance of the weather strip for retaining its shape after bonding by providing a slit roughly in a V shape for a back face at the end section of an extruded section for a hollow weather strip in such a way that the slit is continued to a slit provided for the extruded section, and is continuously narrowed in width as the slit is parted from its connecting position.
CONSTITUTION: The weather strip has a hollow extruded section 10, and also has a slit 21 provided for the back face of a hollow molded section 20 connected to the end face of the extruded section 10. The width of the molded section 20 is made wider by the width B of the slit than the width A of the extruded section for maintaining its shape when the slit 21 is bonded thereon. Besides, a slit 11 roughly in a V shape, which is continuously narrowed in width as the slit is parted from its connecting position, is provided for a back face at the end section of the extruded section 10 located in the extension line of the slit 21, the width of the molded section 10 is thereby made wider than the width of the slit 11.
