Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a woven pile fabric having light weight, high air- permeability, water-absorptivity and heat-insulation and excellent feeling to the skin by using a pile yarn consisting of a silk yarn having sericin attached to the surface.
CONSTITUTION: A woven pile fabric A is woven by using a ground yarn 1 composed of a raw silk yarn, a chemically treated silk yarn, a thermoplastic fiber yarn, a plied yarn consisting of cotton yarn, etc., and other kind of yarn and a pile yarn 2 consisting of a silk yarn having sericin attached to the surface. The woven fabric A is heat-treated to bond and fix the base part of the pile yarn 2 to the ground yarn 1 with the sericin.
