To provide a freely cuttable weft-knit fabric and a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: A fabric is a single ply fabric made of a wound yarn of a dry spinning Spandex, or a synthetic yarn composed of a naked yarn of a dry spinning Spandex and a DTY stretchable yarn with a single circle type weft-knitting machine having a large diameter. The fabric has a flat net part. The flat net part is composed of repeats of composite weaving formed by composite Jacquard weaving of 4 rows and 2 columns as a basic weaving unit. An odd number stage and an even number stage of the basic weaving unit in the flat net part are designed so as to correspond an odd number stage and an even number stage of a knitting needle in a knitting system, respectively. The odd number stage weaving of the basic weaving unit is formed so that a tuck stitch and a welt stitch are alternately formed in a same odd number stage and interposed between odd number stages. The even number stage weaving of the basic weaving unit is formed so as to be two obverse knit stitches. After knitting a fabric, a thermal hardening treatment is executed for 60 seconds to 90 seconds at a prescribed temperature of 185 to 195°C.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
