Abstract:
1517631 Counterbalanced lift trucks EATON Ltd 29 July 1976 31693/76 Heading B7J A counterbalanced lift truck has an operator's seat 15 which faces permanently sideways. The arrangement improves operating visibility and allows a space saving location of the remaining components of the truck. As illustrated, the truck is powered by a transverse I.C. engine 17 which, through a hydrostatic transmission, drives hydrostatic motors 7 in the front wheels of the truck. A fan 23a draws cooling air through a radiator 24. The various controls of the truck are arranged at the two sides of a clear floor space 21 which extends from the seat 15 to the opposite side of the truck. In another embodiment (not shown), the I.C. engine is replaced by a battery which supplies power to electric motors in the front wheels.
