This weight fixing device 10A holds the counterweight 3 moving along a pair of guide rails 8 installed in the hoistway 9 of an elevator 1 at a position higher than the lowest position within the moving range. The weight fixing device comprises a rail side support part 11, a frame side support part 12, and a connection device 13. The rail side support part 11 is installed on the guide rail 8 side. The frame side support part 12 is installed on the weight frame 31 of the counterweight 3 disposed between the guide rails 8. The connection device 13 connects the rail side support part 11 to the frame side support part 12.
