Abstract:
To provide a welding apparatus and a welding method, wherein welding is efficiently made possible and further a weld part is easily allowed to have desired mechanical characteristics.
The welding apparatus 1 includes: a welding means 2 including a heating means 20 for heating a base material 4; and an auxiliary heating means 3 which is provided backwardly in the welding direction by the welding means 2 and heats the weld part 42 welded by the heating means 2. By heating the weld part 42 by the auxiliary heating means 3 heats while tracking the welding means 2, the temperature history of the weld part 42 is controlled, and thus, the hardening effect can be reduced, and the tempering effect can be enhanced.
