Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding method and a welding equipment for realizing low residual stress in which the thermal efficiency and the mechanical efficiency necessary for converting the tensile residual stress in the surface of a weld part into the compressive stress, and the cost can be sufficiently reduced.
SOLUTION: Transitional temperature difference between a surface layer of a base metal and a part immediately below the surface layer is generated in the surface area of a base metal 50 in the tensile stress state by spraying cooling liquid from a spray nozzle 11 and cooling the surface area heated by the heat input from the weld part when performing the welding by a welding rod 31. The tensile stress is generated in the surface layer to generate the tensile strain, and the surface layer is partially yielded. Next, by stopping the cooling, the thermal stress is eliminated. The deformation of the surface of the weld part is elastically returned from the partially yielded state, and the tensile stress is improved in a mitigated state or changed into the compressive residual stress.
