Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce the cost of hard facing of a cast iron and to shorten delivery time by forming the welding material for hard facing for the cast iron materials in such a manner that its deposited metal has a specific basic component compsn.
CONSTITUTION: The basic component compsn. of the deposited metal of the welding material for hard facing of the cast iron consists of 50 to 1.50%. C, 0.20 to 2.00% Si, 0.30 to 6.00% Mn, 0.30 to 10.00% Cr, 0.30 to 10.00% Co and the balance Fe and inevitable impurities and the martensite transformation initiation temp. thereof is ≤150°C. Cutting after welding is easier and the cutting resistance is decreased by 25% as compared to heretofore, when the hard facing is executed on the cast iron base metal. The cutting speed is thus improved and the defect of tools is prevented. Unmanned automatic cutting is possible.
