Abstract:
PURPOSE: To weld spheroidal graphite cast irons at a relatively low preheating temp. by using a eutectic welding material.
CONSTITUTION: This welding material for the spheroidal graphite cast irons contains 3.3 to 5.2% C, 2.7 to 6% Si, 0.01 to 0.2% Mg and 0.001 to 0.08% Ca, further, contg. one or two kinds of 0.005 to 0.15% REM and 0.005 to 0.2% Bi and consisting of the balance Fe with inevitable impurities. The spheroidal graphite cast irons are well welded without generating crack, etc., even at a low preheating temp. by using the eutectic welding material. Repair welding and structural welding of the spheroidal graphite cast irons are thus possible.
