PURPOSE: To lessen the deformation in the stage of welding and to obtain a turbine blade which is free from crack and embrittleness by welding the blade and an erosion preventive piece, via an intermediate interposing metal, with an electron beam to form a recess on the top and bottom surface then build-up welding the recess by a filler metal.
CONSTITUTION: A turbine blade 1 is subjected to edge preparation and an erosion preventive piece 4 is attached thereto via an intermediate interposing metal 2. A recess is formed on the top and bottom surface of the blade in this state by sandwiching the metal 2 thinner than the piece 4 between the two surfaces. An electron beam irradiation 3 is applied from above and below on the joint surfaces between the blade 1 and the metal 2 and between the metal and the piece 4 to form a weld zone 5. An Ni alloy is used for the metal 2 to form the joint free from weld crack and embrittle texture. While a filler metal 6 having the same high hardness as the piece 4 is supplied in the recess 7, electron beam welding is performed, whereby a hardened layer 8 having erosion preventive performance on the surface is formed.
