Title:
WELDING METHOD OF HARDENABLE NICKEL BASE ALLOY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH11156559
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To obtain a welded material with at least approximately the same characteristics as a basic material by hot isostatic pressing a work piece after the welded material being generated due to the welding of the work piece comprising the nickel base alloy is coated with a dense protective layer consisting of a ductile material.

Ni base alloys 1, 2 as a basic material are welded by TIG welding to obtain a work piece 5. In this case, an arc is formed between a tungsten electrode and the alloys 1, 2, and is surrounded with a protective flow consisting of inert gas. The filler forming a welded material 3 comprises the same composition as the basic material, and thus the composition of the material 3 is equivalent to a metallic material. The filler is applied to small beads to eliminate a big failure. When the material 3 is completely coated, the protective layer 4 which is arranged around the material 3 and composed of the ductile Ni base alloy being the ductile material, is welded with the material 3. The layer 4 closes the material 3 in a manner that the material 3 is closed against the outside.
