Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the welding method for good welding the highly corrosion resistant nickel-base alloy clad steels to be used in a highly corrosive atmosphere to each other.
CONSTITUTION: After base metals are welded to each other with the eutectic metal of the base metals, the cladding metal side is build-up welded by a welding material contg. 20 to 40wt.% Cr and 9 to 30wt.% Mo and consisting of the balance substantially Ni and is then built-up welded with the eutectic metal of the cladding metal in superposition thereof. As a result, the strength in the weld zone is improved and the strength equal to the strength of the base metals is obtd. The dilution of components by the base metals is prevented on the cladding metal side and the excellent corrosion resistance is obtd.
