Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the welding of a distal part of a work having an overhung or inclined transverse by supporting a welding robot in a suspended position by the external axes in which three axes, including the traveling axis of a gantry, the slide axis of a robot slider, and the turning axes in addition to three external axes in the x, y, z directions, and five axes, including the axis of rotation of the robot slider.
SOLUTION: The high-speed welding is performed using a gantry 1 to freely travel on a rail in the x-direction, a girder 2 which is stretched over the gantry 1 and moves in the y-direction, a carriage 3 which is mounted on the girder 2 and moved in the x-direction, a column 4 which is mounted on the carriage 3 and elevated/lowered in the z-direction, a robot slider 5 which is mounted on a lower end part of the column 4 and slides in the y-direction, a robot base 6 which is mounted on a lower surface of the robot slider 5, and slidable and turnable by 180°, a multiple-articulated welding robot 7 to be mounted on the robot base 6, and a welding torch 8 to be mounted on the tip of the welding robot 7.
