PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding system and a welding method for a cylindrical structure that can efficiently weld the cylindrical structure with higher precision.SOLUTION: There is provided a welding system for a cylindrical structure that welds weld end faces which are axial end faces of a cylinder of an upper cylindrical structure and a lower cylindrical structure and face each other, the welding system having: two or more welding devices which face weld end faces of the upper cylindrical structure and lower cylindrical structure and are arranged at an equal interval in a circumferential direction of the cylinder; a moving device which rotates the upper cylindrical structure and lower cylindrical structure and the welding devices relatively in a circumferential direction of the cylinder; and a controller which controls operations of the welding devices and moving device. The welding devices each have a filler metal and a heat source for fusing the filler metal, and fuses the filler metal to the weld end faces to weld the weld end faces together, and the controller allows the moving device to perform the continuous rotation by the angle of the arrangement interval of the welding devices while the welding devices weld the weld end faces together.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
