Abstract:
To provide a welding system which detects that a filler wire is in contact with an arc.SOLUTION: In a welding system A1, an arc 3 is generated between a welding wire 1 and a welding object 2 to form a molten weld pool 21, and welding is carried out while a filler wire 6 is inserted to the molten weld pool 21. The welding system A1 comprises: a welding wire 1; a filler wire 6; a power source circuit PM for supplying the welding wire 1 with power for welding; a filler voltage detection circuit VFD for detecting a filler voltage that is a voltage between the filler wire 6 and the welding object 2; and a contact determination circuit SD for determining presence/absence of arc contact where the filler wire 6 contacts the arc 3. The power source circuit PM switches between a peak period of outputting a peak current to the welding wire 1, and a base period of outputting a base current. The contact determination circuit SD determines that arc contact has occurred, if a filler voltage in the peak period is equal to a threshold or higher.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
