Title:
WELDING OF TITANIUM ALLOY TO ALUMINUM ALLOY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH10128558
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide the joining capable of keeping the airtightness and watertightness for a long time, and free from any loosening or separation of a joined part by welding aluminum alloy to titanium alloy having aluminum coating.

A conventional joining method has disadvantages such as (a) deterioration of a joined part and low heat resistant strength, (b) difficulty in keeping the airtightness and watertightness in the mechanical fixing by a screw or a wedge, and (c) generation of loosening and separation of the joined part against the impact. An aluminum alloy 1 and titanium alloy 2 are prepared, an aluminum coating 3 is provided on a joining surface of the titanium alloy 2, and welded to aluminum alloy 1. A raised part by the welding is finished by cutting or grinding. The welding capable of keeping the mechanical strength, and watertightness and airtightness for a long time without generating loosening, deterioration, damages, breakage, etc., of the joined part.
