PURPOSE: To furnish a welding wire guide which carries out clamping with directivity by allowing a welding wire to move in the feed direction and suppressing its movement in the reverse direction.
CONSTITUTION: A number of truncated cone cylindrical ceramic rings 7 are inserted into a curved pipe body 8 as a chain in the form of the other small diameter opening end being inserted into one large diameter opening of adjacent rings and besides, with each ring 7 being tiltable in the pipe. A welding wire is passed through tapered holes of the rings 7. The welding wire movement in the direction toward small diameter openings from large diameter openings of the rings 7 generates little frictional resistance and is easy but the movement in its reverse direction generates exceedingly great frictional resistance and is difficult.
