To provide a welding wire winder that ensures and facilitates attaching/detaching of a bobbin to/from a chucking means and that can wind while straightening bending inclination of a welding wire to be taken up, without causing failure in winding or defects in wound appearance.
A chucking means 1 includes a pair of opposing tapered faces 4a, 4b and an extending/contracting mechanism 5 that makes a bobbin 2 attached/detached by extending/contracting the pair of tapered faces 4a, 4b in the axial direction C. While an engaging fixture 6 with a pin 6a is fixed to the rotary shaft 3, a pin hole 2b is provided on the side face of the bobbin 2, wherein the pin 6a of the engaging fixture 6 is inserted into the pin hole 2b of the bobbin 2 for the engagement. In the attaching/detaching of the bobbin 2 to/from the chucking means 1, a bobbin placing base 8 for placing the bobbin 2 on is elevated, making the bobbin 2 attached/detached by the extension/contraction of the extending/contracting mechanism 5. Meantime, an elevating/lowering means is installed that lowers to retreat the bobbin placing base 8 during the winding operation of the welding wire.
