Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Westco type fuel pump which supplies fuel having an increased pressure toward a fuel injection valve without time delay, and has excellent restart property when restarting an engine.
SOLUTION: An impeller 8 rotated and driven by an electric motor M arranged in a motor chamber 9 is arranged in a pump chamber 7, and a fuel flow-in passage 6 opened toward the outside and a discharge hole 5 directed toward the motor chamber 9 are opened in the pump chamber 7. The discharge hole 5 is provided with a fuel holding function for preventing air from flowing into the motor chamber 9 from the pump chamber 7 when the engine stops.
