This Western-style toilet bowl is equipped with a side wall 1 which is placed on a floor surface F. A toilet bowl 2 is formed in the side wall 1. A top plate 3 is connected to an upper end of the side wall 1 and that of the toilet bowl 2. The top plate 3 has an opening 3A which opens a bowl surface 2A of the toilet bowl 2 upward, and a placing surface 3B on which a toilet bowl device 4 is placed in the rear of the opening 3A. The Western-style toilet bowl has a handhold portion 10 which is provided in a location positioned in the rear of the toilet bowl 2 and concealed with the toilet bowl device 4 when the toilet bowl device 4 is placed.
