Abstract:

To provide a wet brake device that can efficiently cool a friction engagement surface between a rotation-side brake plate and a non-rotation side brake plate.

A friction material 48B is arranged at the non-rotation side brake plate 48, and an oil groove 48F is formed at the friction engagement surface 48E of the friction material 48B. Then, when a brake force is imparted to a motor shaft 25 by a brake piston 49, lubrication oil 59 which flows into a brake case 32 from a lubrication oil flow-in port 40 is made to flow toward an inside-diameter side from an outside-diameter side between the rotation-side brake plate 47 and the non-rotation side brake plate 48 through only the oil groove 48F. By this, when the brake force is imparted, the lubrication oil 59 flowing into the brake case 32 from the lubrication oil flow-in port 40 is restrained to flow into a region other than the friction engagement surface 48E, and the friction engagement surface 48E can efficiently be cooled.
