PURPOSE: To drastically enhance dispersion efficiency, by providing a plurality of projections to a disc to allow the projections to apply strong shear to a medium and to generate a turbulent flow at the time of the rotation of the disc.
CONSTITUTION: The shaft 5 connected to a drive apparatus 4 is inserted in a vessel 1 and discs 73 each having a plurality of projections provided to the single surface thereof are mounted to the lower part of the shaft. A medium and pigment are put in this wet dispersing apparatus and the shaft 5 is driven. Whereupon, dispersion efficiency is drastically enhanced as compared with a case having no projections and a substance to be dispersed can be formed into ultra-fine particles with a particle size of 0.5μm or less within a short time. Therefore, this apparatus is extremely useful for the purpose of dispersing pigment used in an electrophotographic photosensitive body.
