Abstract:
To provide a wet type friction material capable of achieving reduction in dragging torque by improving configurations.SOLUTION: A wet type friction material 1 has a ring-shaped core plate 2, and a plurality of segment pieces 3 disposed on a main surface 2a of the core plate 2. The segment pieces 3 are each formed into nearly W-shape. The nearly W-shape is obtained by forming two cutout recessed portions 61, 62 on one side portion of a long right-side portion or a long left-side portion, and forming one cutout recessed portion 63 on the other side portion, on a nearly rectangular original shape having a long side extended in a centrifugal direction Dof the core plate and a short side extended in a rotating direction Dof the core plate. In any of two adjacent segment pieces among the plurality of segment pieces 3, one cutout recessed portion 63 of a first segment piece 301 and a projecting portion 65 held between the two cutout recessed portions 61, 62 of a second segment piece 302 are opposed to each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
