PURPOSE: To improve the hygroscopic exchange rate of the captioned element, by impregnating paperlike material, which consists of mainly a pulplike material composed of inorganic fiber and a heat resisting polymer, with a moisture-absorbing material so as to stick the moisture-absorbing material to the paperlike material, whereby the durability and refractoriness of the paperlike material are improved.
CONSTITUTION: A hygroscopic exchange element is obtained by impregnating paperlike material, which consists of mainly a pulplike material composed of in- organic fiber and a heat resisting polymer, with a moisture-absorbing material so as to stick the moisture-absorbing material to the paperlike material. The inorganic fiber may consist of glass fiber, lead fiber, alumina fiber, or ceramic fiber. The ceramic fiber includes silica fiber and silica-alumina fiber. The moisture-absorbing material may consist of lithium chloride, lithium bromide, glycerin, or polyethylene glycol.
