Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a smooth plating layer corresponding to the request of high appearance by forming a plating layer having sufficient peel strength (adhesion) on an aluminum wheel base material subjected to shot blasting.
SOLUTION: As to this wet plating method for aluminum wheel, on an aluminum wheel base material in which a base coating film layer has been formed by a powder coating material, an adhesion primer coating film layer formed by a carboxyl group-containing acrylic resin-containing adhesion primer coating material blended with an aluminum chelate compound and a primer coating film layer for wet plating formed by an ABS resin primer coating material containing diene series rubber components of 10 to 40 pts.wt. to 100 pts.wt. of the solid content of the coating material are successively formed, and thereafter, multilayer metallic plating esesentially consisting of copper, nickel and chromium is moreover applied to form a plating layer.
