PURPOSE: To perfectly prevent the sticking of scale, by washing a hard scale composed of sulfuric acid ion, sulfurous acid ion and calcium of wet process lime method exhaust gas desulfurizing apparatus by the absorbent slurry having a specific pH.
CONSTITUTION: Solution or slurry containing sulfuric acid and having 1W4pH, is supplied in the absorption tower of wet process lime gypsum method exhaust gas desulfurizing process and a hard scale composed of sulfuric acid ion, sulfurous acid ion and calcium, is washed and after that, supply of said solution or slurry, is stopped. Then, sulfur oxides are desulfurized by the absorbent having 5W7pH in the absorption tower. And, said operation is repeated alternately. Thus, sticking of the scale is effectively prevented and a long period use of the apparatus is made possible.
