Abstract:
To provide a method for suppressing precipitation of a gypsum caused by calcium contained in a neutralizer to be added in a preliminary neutralization step and a neutralization step as a scale.SOLUTION: A wet smelting method for nickel oxide ore includes an HPAL step S2 of adding a sulfuric acid to a slurry of a nickel oxide ore and subjecting the slurry to acid leaching treatment under high temperature pressurization, a preliminary neutralization step S3 of adding a neutralizer containing calcium salt to a leached slurry obtained in the acid leaching treatment, and adjusting pH to 3.0 or more and 3.4 or less, a counterflow type multistage water washing step S4 of introducing the leached slurry whose pH is adjusted in the preliminary neutralization step S3 to a counterflow type multistage water washing device, removing the precipitated gypsum together with a leach residue, and obtaining a sulfuric acid acidic aqueous solution which contains nickel and has calcium concentration controlled to its solubility or less, and a neutralization step S5 of adding the neutralizer containing the calcium salt to the sulfuric acid acidic aqueous solution and subjecting the sulfuric acid acidic aqueous solution to neutralization treatment.SELECTED DRAWING: None
