Title:
WET TREATMENT OF PETROLEUM COMBUSTION ASH
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3686491
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of the clogging caused by the sedimentation of magnesium hydroxide in a recovery apparatus when free ammonia is recovered from a slurry containing gypsum and free ammonia in a wet treatment process of petroleum combustion ash containing ammonium sulfate and magnesium.
SOLUTION: In a wet process successively including at least a slurry preparing process preparing a slurry containing ammonium sulfate and magnesium ions by mixing combustion ash and water, a double-decomposition process of ammonium sulfate, a process recovering free ammonia from the slurry containing gypsum and free ammonia formed in the double-decomposition process and a gypsum separation process, magnesium is converted to magnesium carbonate by carbon dioxide or carbon dioxide-containing gas after the slurry preparing process but before the ammonia recovery process.
