PURPOSE: To attain enhancement in achievable strength, finishing linear velocity, wire drawing limit, etc., as well as the prolongation of the service life of dies by drawing with dies provided dividedly on the entrance side and the exit side, making the reduction of area of the exit side dies not more than a specific value and supplying cooling lubricant before the dies ode entrance and exit sides.

CONSTITUTION: A drawing material 1 drawn from a first step dies 2 is put in a lubricant tank 3, put through plural pairs of speed cones 4-1, 4-2, and processed in finishing drawing with finishing dies 5. The finishing dies 5 are dividedly arranged into entrance side dies 5-1 and exit side dies 5-2, and the reduction of area is set at 3% or less for the exit side dies 5-2. A cooling lubricant is supplied from the front of dies on each side by means of cooling lubricant supply nozzles 6-1, 6-2. The drawing material with the finishing pass is coiled by a coiler 8 through a capstan 7. Thus, by the cooling lubricant, rise in wire temperature is suppressed, age-embrittlement is minimized, and the reduction of area is reduced on the exit side dies 5-1, 5-2; consequently, burning is prevented, the service life of dies is prolonged, and drawing velocity, achievable strength, etc., are enhanced.
