Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a wet-type carbonaceous friction material having high abrasion resistance and heat resistance, and endowed with an impact resistance and low object-attacking properties.
CONSTITUTION: A thin plate formed from a mixture of an amorphous rigid carbon filler, a graphitic carbon powder and a graphitizable binder is burnt to graphitize the graphitic carbon powder and the graphitizable binder to form a matrix bonding the rigid carbon filler. An org. material destroyable by firing may further be added to the mixture, and destroyed by firing to form pores.
