Abstract:
PURPOSE: To polish an ultra-mirror surface easily by magnetically polishing using grains of polishing material and grains of strong magnetism material in existence of liquid medium including surface active agent.
CONSTITUTION: Grains 1 of polishing material such as Al2O3 or the like and grains 2 of strong magnetism material such as Fe are adsorbed to a polishing tool 4 to form an iron powder brush. The polishing tool 4 is rotated in a container 6 containing organic solvent including surface active agent such as fatty acid for liquid medium 3 for magnetically polishing a work 5. An ultra-mirror polishing can thus be performed for obtaining a polished surface having a very high smoothness using the very fine polishing material grains.
