Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a wet type packed tower in which a preliminary cooler is installed there to effectively, surely and preliminarily cool high temp. gas.
CONSTITUTION: A preliminary cooler 15 in the form of a horizontal conduit, into which a water spray device 16 is incorporated is installed in the part of a gas inlet 7 of a wet type packed tower 1 in which high temp. gas is cooled by subjecting it to gas-liquid contact with circulating water in the part of a packing material 3.
