To provide a wet type specific gravity separation method and apparatus capable of easily and certainly discharging a floating substance such as plastics or the like in wet type separator for separating solid substances different in specific gravity contained in a medium liquid.
Solid substances different in specific gravity are charged in a rotary container along with the medium liquid and a solid substance, of which the specific gravity is less than that of the medium liquid, is floated toward the center-of-rotation side of the container and the floated solid substances is discharged out of the container by air streams. Further, the rotary shaft arranged in the rotary container is equipped with a mixture transport route for transporting the mixture of the solid substances into the container and compressed air is injected in the mixture transport route to feed the mixture to a floating substance discharge port by air streams based on compressed air.
