Title:
WHEEL ALIGNMENT DEVICE PROVIDED WITH FOUR SENSORS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH06201355
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To align horizontal and unhorizontal support faces without any necessity of a vertical sensor by providing angle measuring devices on respective flat faces of vehicle support wheels and outputting a wheel angle display signal for providing an alignment angle.

CONSTITUTION: Angle measuring devices 21-24 are faced in the known direction in relation to wheel flat faces A-D so as to be installed on respective wheels. An angle 1 which is an angle formed by a straight line connecting the flat face A to the devices 21, 23 in a flat plane (toe) is so decided that the device 23 receives a radiation beam from the device 21. Similarly, the angle 3 is decided in relation to the flat face C. The angles 4-12 are decided similarly. When these angles are combined, they become a wheel toe. The radiation beam between the devices 21, 22 forms a side of the angles 13, 14 and a camber angle of the support wheel is provided from this data. In this case, the alignment angle is shown irrelevant to the vertical position and relevant to the wheel reference flat face to the support wheel set. The horizontal and unhorizontal support faces of a vehicle can be thus aligned without any necessity of a vertical sensor.
