To propose a wheel for an automobile capable of exhibiting superior strength and durability to an impact (load) applied while the automobile is travelling by improving the strength and durability on a backside flange section side.
Since the radial width b of a protruded end periphery 28 constituting the backside flange section 24 of a rim 3 is formed to be not less than 8 mm and not more than 15 mm in this wheel for the automobile, the rigidity of the protruded end periphery 28 located at the endmost position of the backside opening end of the rim 3 can be enhanced. Therefore, an effect suppressing deformation of the backside opening end can be enhanced and exhibited efficiently. Thus, stress that occurs in the backside opening end by the impact from a tire 71 can be reduced, and the strength and durability of the backside opening end can be improved.
