Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the entry of foreign matters such as slurry through a flange into a bearing between an outer ring and an inner ring.SOLUTION: A wheel bearing device 10 includes an outer ring 12 to be fixed to a vehicle fixing member on the inner side of a vehicle, and an inner ring 14 to be mounted to a wheel on the outer side of the vehicle so as to be rotated relative to the outer ring 12. At the end of the inner ring 14 on the outer side of the vehicle, a flange 24 is integrally formed which is protruded radially outward for the wheel to be mounted thereto. A seal member 18 is fitted to the inner peripheral face end of the outer ring 12 for sealing an annular space between the outer ring 12 and the inner ring 14. In the base of the flange 24 on the inner side of the vehicle, a peripheral circumferential groove 40 is formed. Through the circumferential groove 40, foreign matters such as slurry are discharged.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
