Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel bearing device capable of improving traveling fuel consumption when an angular ball bearing is in a low preload state, and improving traveling stability when the angular ball bearing is in a high preload state.SOLUTION: A wheel bearing device 1 constituting an angular ball bearing in which a virtual line Z connecting a contact point X of an outer rolling surface 2d formed on an outer ring 22 and a rolling element 4, and a contact point Y of an inner rolling surface 3d formed on an inner ring 32 and the rolling element 4 is inclined to an outer side toward a radial outer side, includes a spacer member 7 disposed between opposed faces of an outer ring main body 21 and the outer ring 22 in a state of being internally fitted to a large-diameter step portion 2H, and the spacer member 7 has material characteristics that a linear expansion coefficient of the spacer is larger than that of an outer member 2, and is relatively expanded in accompany with temperature rise of the outer ring main body 21 to increase energization force to an inner side to the outer ring 22.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
